‘It’s possible’… Pundit says £51m player could actually leave Man City right after Pep Guardiola’s exit
Frank Leboeuf believes that Erling Haaland could follow Pep Guardiola out of the door and leave Manchester City once his manager decides to call it a day at the club.
On Tuesday, while the Norwegian superstar confirmed that he was “happy” with life at the Etihad Stadium he eventually stated that one has no idea “what the future brings.”
Haaland was aware that just because he has made the second part of the statement means a “big headline” will be made out of his admission, as he also emphasised the importance of journalists mentioning his happiness at City.
Frank Leboeuf tips Erling Haaland to leave Manchester City when Pep Guardiola does
It seems like the £51 million (The Guardian) man has been proven right as talks around his future have begun once again after his latest press conference.
Frank Leboeuf thinks when Pep Guardiola decides to bid farewell to Manchester City, Erling Haaland will follow suit.

“I think that if Pep Guardiola leaves, for example, next year or the year after, it’s possible that Erling Haaland leaves as well because therefore, he will even know less about the future”, he said [via ESPN FC].
Manchester City must ensure they appoint the best possible Pep Guardiola replacement
In a sense, the point Frank Leboeuf makes is valid and it may not only apply to Erling Haaland but several players at Manchester City and their futures being related to how long Pep Guardiola stays at the club.
Guardiola remains one of, if not the best manager in the world and it is natural that a huge reason why multiple players at City have no desire to leave anytime soon is due to his presence, even if they have considered a potential exit in private.
As a result, Manchester City must ensure that they hire the best possible replacement for the Catalan boss as the last thing they would want after he leaves is for a mass exodus to come to fruition.
Dealing with Guardiola’s exit will be an incredibly difficult task for the Sky Blues but if his successor in question is top-quality and has a big reputation, perhaps various big names at the club will be drawn towards staying.
If not, Manchester City could be in deep waters but knowing the club, they will do their due diligence to make sure the Guardiola replacement is one of the best in the business as it is also a decision they simply cannot afford to get wrong.
