Liverpool v Man City: Match Preview, Kick off time and team news
In a clash that promises to be a defining moment in the 2023-24 Premier League season, Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp and Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola will share a warm embrace on the Anfield touchline for the final time in the league.
Only one place and one point separates the two titans after 27 games of the 2023-24 season, although Arsenal could knock both sides down a spot before Sunday’s headline encounter
Match Preview
As the Premier League title hangs in the balance, Arsenal lurks in the shadows, ready to upset the current order and potentially knock both Liverpool and Manchester City down a spot before the much-anticipated showdown commences.
Liverpool, riding high on the momentum of Darwin Nunez’s 99th-minute header against Nottingham Forest, currently holds the coveted top spot. This dramatic victory not only secured their first Premier League win at the City Ground but also etched Nunez’s name in history with the 10th latest winning goal since data became available.
However, Liverpool’s defensive vulnerabilities are evident, with only one clean sheet in their last nine home affairs. Having witnessed at least three goals in six of their last seven Anfield contests, the stage is set for an equally potent Manchester City to capitalize and disrupt Liverpool’s title aspirations.
Guardiola’s side, despite being stunned by a Marcus Rashford rocket against Manchester United, displayed resilience with Phil Foden and Erling Haaland leading a comeback. The Citizens, aiming to win the title for the fourth consecutive times, remain a formidable force in the title race.
Kick Off Time
The match is set to kick off by 4:30 pm GMT+1 on Sunday and will mark the second meeting between these two sides this season.
Team News
Liverpool welcomes back Mohamed Salah after his comeback in the Europa League, offering a potential boost to their attacking prowess. However, they will be without key players such as Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joel Matip, and Alisson Becker, among others.

Kyle Walker might have a big game against Liverpool this weekend for Manchester City but he’s found time to sing the praises of a Manchester United player.
Walker goes to Anfield having never won at Anfield and is hoping to put that right in one of the biggest games of the season so far.
Of course, another foe for Walker are City’s cross-city rivals, Man United. And in particular, due to the position he plays, Marcus Rashford.
Rashford has had a difficult season this time around and has come in for criticism from a number of pundits.

However, Walker is having none of it and speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s FIVE podcast, Walker admitted he finds Rashford an ‘incredible’ talent.
Kyle Walker praises Marcus Rashford
Speaking about his England teammate, Walker admitted that the 26-year-old forward is a nightmare for defenders at times.
“I honestly, honestly, I think he’s incredible. Listen things sometimes don’t go your way on the pitch but for me, and I’m not just saying this, when he’s on it, you aren’t stopping him. Left and right foot, pace, strong, and he’s got the one where there’s no back lift, it’s just a quick shot, like Defoe used to have. As a defender you gamble but when it comes through your legs, what can you do,” Walker said.
