Man City star Jack Grealish responded to teammate Erling Haaland after the Norwegian said the Englishman was his best friend at the club.

Grealish, 29, and Haaland, 24, have been close since the striker joined Pep Guardiola’s side from German giants Borussia Dortmund back in 2022.

Off the pitch, their chemistry is undeniable, but on it, they’re less compatible, having not combined for a goal since Grealish’s 81st-minute strike in the 3-3 draw against Tottenham last season.

The England international has found himself back in the fold under Guardiola after being out in the cold for much of last season.

Haaland, on the other hand, has started this season as he ended the last, scoring an impressive ten goals in just eight Premier League appearances.

The two players played pivotal roles in Manchester City’s squad that secured their remarkable Premier League, Champions League, and FA Cup treble in the 2022-23 season.

Grealish was among the first Manchester City players to congratulate Haaland on the announcement that he is set to become a father for the first time.

While fielding questions from City’s in-house social media team for Instagram, Haaland is asked who his best mate is at the club, to which he quickly responds “Jack Grealish”.

The winger then re-posted the snippet onto his own Instagram, letting his teammate know that the feeling is mutual.

City remain in second thanks to a controversial 95th-minute goal from John Stones in their 2-1 Premier League win over Wolves.

Guardiola’s side are the only unbeaten side left in the Premier League after ten-men Arsenal’s defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday (October 19).

SportEPL: He loves sliding tackles – Man City’s Grealish names toughest player he ever facedPublished on October 21, 2024By Don Silas

Manchester City star, Jack Grealish has named West Ham United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka as one of his toughest ever players in football.

Grealish has played against some of the top defenders in world football.

The England international is, however, convinced that Wan-Bissaka is among the very best he’s faced.

According to him, the former Manchester United star loves sliding tackles and he is good at one-vs-one defending.

The 29-year-old recently appeared on Sky Sports and was asked who he thought fans would name as the top three defenders he has faced in his career.

“Yeah, [I’d have Wan-Bissaka in my top three]. I think he is really good at one-vs-one defending. Sliding tackles… he loves it,” Grealish said.

Wan-Bissaka joined West Ham from Man United for £15million in the recent summer transfer window.
