Manchester City appear to be bringing in another Jeremy Doku in 19-year-old gem, as amazing stat emerges

Manchester City are reportedly set to sign Savio – and it could be that the club are bringing in another Jeremy Doku-type player in the Brazilian.

It was reported just ahead of the Brentford game that City had agreed a deal to sign Savio, who has been on loan at Girona this season from ESTAC Troyes.

The 19-year-old has been in superb form, scoring seven goals and making seven assists in 27 appearances across all competitions.

Savio has wowed at the high-flying La Liga outfit, and City are now set to swoop.

The deal will be scrutinised by the Premier League given the fact Girona and Savio’s parent club Troyes are both owned by the City Football Group.

But if this does go through, then Pep Guardiola may well have another Jeremy Doku kind of player on his hands…

It remains to be seen if City are able to definitely bring Savio to the Etihad this summer.

After reporting that a deal had been agreed, journalist Fabrizio Romano then said that it should be finalised by the end of February. He added that he will be ‘part of City’s first team from July and he will start the pre-season under Pep Guardiola’.

Savio is certainly an exciting player – and someone who could potentially be a bit like Jeremy Doku, if one statistic is anything to go by.

According to WhoScored, he is actually the player who has completed the most dribbles in La Liga so far this season with 62.

WhoScored have also run a feature on the South American starlet, which does liken him to Doku – a player who is very renowned for his dribbling.

Savio looks a top talent

As expected, rival fans have had a lot to say about Savio’s impending move to City given the City Football Group ownership.

But just focusing on the player for a moment, it looks as though City are set to bring in a really exciting young talent in Savio, who is seemingly being lined up to go straight into the first-team squad. The statistic about his dribbling clearly shows that he is a direct player who loves to take on his man, just like Doku.

Perhaps a decision will be made once Pep Guardiola has seen him in pre-season training.

But the fact he’ll have already played a full season in a top European league such as La Liga, as well as featured in the Eredivisie with PSV Eindhoven, suggests there is a chance we’ll actually be seeing him in a City shirt next season.
