Manchester City are facing tough competition for Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze as they look to strengthen their squad this summer.

In a recent report, The Independent claimed that Manchester City are facing tough competition for Crystal Palace playmaker Eberechi Eze. It has been stated that the Mancunian club would have to rival Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign the English attacker in the summer.
Eze’s Impressive Form In Premier League Football This Season
Eze has enjoyed a decent season at the London club after putting in a handful of impressive performances for them in the final third. The English sensation has found the back of the net on five occasions and earned three assists in 20 matches for Crystal Palace this season in various competitions.

The 25-year-old has been a consistent performer in the opponent’s half based on his average of 1.4 tackles, 3.0 shots, 2.1 key passes and 2.7 dribbles per game in the Premier League. He has even been tidy when distributing possession as he has made 85.3% of his attempted passes in the English top tier (stats via whoscored).

His current contract at Selhurst Park will expire in the summer of 2027. Hence, Man City would have to launch a convincing offer if they are serious about recruiting Eze later this year.

Is Eze A Good Option For Manchester City Boss Pep Guardiola?
Eze is a good dribbler with the ball and can be a hard man to dispossess when he is running in full swing in the opponent’s half. He has got the eye to set up a few clear-cut chances for his teammates in the final third and can even strike the ball purely and with venom from long range.
The English talent is primarily an attacking midfielder but can also operate as a box-to-box midfielder or as a left-sided wide player if asked to do so. We can expect him to add more firepower to Man City head coach Pep Guardiola’s attack.
Eze has what it takes to fight for a regular starting spot at the Etihad Stadium in the coming seasons. Thus, Guardiola would be wise to make a move for him when the transfer window reopens later this year.
At 25, Eze is only going to get better over the next few seasons which makes him a great option for the Mancunian giants to pursue in the long run.
