Manchester City consider accepting £30m for Julian Alvarez

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness expects to see Manchester City forward Julian Alvarez leave the club this summer.

Spanish broadcaster El Chiringuito reported on 12 July Alvarez has asked to leave the Premier League champions during the current transfer window.

The 24-year-old is believed to have recently turned down a new contract to extend his stay at the Etihad, fueling speculation around a potential exit.

Chelsea, PSG and Atletico Madrid have all been widely linked with a potential swoop for the forward, who just claimed the Copa America trophy with Argentina.

Julian Alvarez needs a change as Man City exit on the cards

Wyness believes Alvarez needs a change after he lost his place in the Man City side towards the end of last season.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I think he will be going.

“It seems as though he’s mentally ready for a change.

“I don’t know what’s going on with him personally, but it does seem as though he needs a shift.

“I think that would be good for him.

“I’m thinking maybe £30-35million is the sort of category I would put him in.

“I don’t know the actual terms of his contract, but that’s the sort of numbers I would be looking at.

“But I think I would expect to see him moving.”
