Manchester City Injury News And Return Dates: Updates On Jack Grealish, Jeremy Doku And 4 Other Players
Manchester City winger Jack Grealish is not expected to return to training until the end of this week.
Speaking last Wednesday, manager Pep Guardiola said that the 29-year-old could be out for up to 10 days with an unspecified injury.
Grealish has subsequently been absent for the 5-0 win over Sparta Prague and the 1-0 victory against Southampton at the weekend.
The England international could miss the match against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup but he could return for the Cityzens’ next Premier League fixture.
Jeremy Doku is expected to be out of contention for a slightly longer period than Grealish, but Guardiola refused to give an exact timescale.
No details have been provided about the nature of the Belgian’s injury but there is still hope that he could return to action before the next international break.
Expected Return Date – Saturday 9th November v Brighton
Oscar Bobb’s return from a leg injury is set to be delayed by a month or two. It was originally expected that the Norwegian international would be available again during the Christmas period.
However, Guardiola has confirmed that Bobb’s comeback has now been pencilled in for “January or February.” That is a major blow for the 21-year-old who looked set to become a regular starter this season.
Kyle Walker has been sidelined since the last round of international fixtures due to a knee problem.
The fullback was not in the matchday squad for the games against Wolves, Sparta Prague or Southampton.
Expected Return Date – Unknown
Rodri is undergoing rehabilitation on the ACL that he sustained during the 2-2 draw against Arsenal last month.
The Spanish international had surgery very shortly after the injury but he is not expected to make his comeback this season.
Kevin De Bruyne is still no closer to making his comeback from a groin problem that he picked up against Inter Milan last month.
The Belgian international has been training with the first team but he is not 100% fit. Speaking about when De Bruyne could play again, Guardiola replied:
“Of course, I prefer to have all the squad with this amount of games. But it is what it is. Hopefully, he comes back soon. I don’t know yet, I would like to tell you, but I don’t know.”
De Bruyne has already been on the sidelines for the best part of six weeks.
