The Portuguese midfielder was subbed off during the 2nd half, seemingly fracturing his left hand’s middle finger after a harsh fall. He was replaced by youngster Micah Hamilton.

 

This incident follows Jeremy Doku’s absence from the squad because of his fitness issues before the game, with Jack Grealish also ruled out until the international break. “We have injuries with Jeremy and Jack, we need to be fresh,” Pep Guardiola said in the post-match press conference.
