Manchester City set asking price for Kevin De Bruyne

Saudi Pro League clubs will have to fork out over £100 million to sign 32-year-old Manchester City mainstay Kevin De Bruyne.

According to a report by TalkSPORT, Manchester City are not really worried about the future of Kevin De Bruyne who has attracted a lot of attention from the Middle East. The Belgian attacking midfielder is a top target for Saudi Pro League clubs but the only way they can sign him is by paying a fee of over £100 million.

De Bruyne: A priority for Saudi Pro League clubs

Saudi Pro League clubs have been doing some incredible business over the past three transfer windows. They have signed some incredible players from across Europe and are expected to make similar moves next summer as they look to raise the standards of their league.

The Middle Eastern clubs want to sign Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and City’s Kevin De Bruyne. Both are world-class players who still have a few years left in them and clubs in Saudi Arabia are ready to offer them huge wages to make the move happen.

Belgian international’s contract situation at City

De Bruyne’s contract with City runs out in the summer of 2025. While the Manchester-based club did consider the idea of giving him a new deal, they decided to put the talks on hold after the Belgian international suffered a long-term injury.

But, now that he is back and is in full flow, the English club are considering the idea of offering him a new deal. In his nine appearances since returning from the hamstring injury, he has scored two goals and has bagged eight assists.

De Bruyne is once again back at his best and he still has a lot of football left in him. As a result, City will look to pen down a new deal with the 32-year-old before the end of the season. Even if he enters the next summer window with just a year left on his deal, City will still not sanction his departure on the cheap.

The only way Saudi Pro League clubs can sign the Belgian international is by paying City over £100 million and convincing the player to leave Europe and make the move to the Middle East where he will be earning a fortune.

While City will try their best to keep hold of the 32-year-old, should he decide to make the move to the Middle East, clubs from that part of the world can surely pay that big a price for the Belgian superstar.
