Manchester City’s next Argentina star showcase what he could bring to the Etihad

Manchester City’s next Argentine star Claudio Echeverri showcased why City were so keen to secure his signature. Playing for the Argentinian under-23 side against Uruguay in their 3-all draw it was obvious what he will eventually bring to the Etihad.

Echeverri was the standout performer on the pitch before he was substituted in the 62nd minute. He had an assist during the game but it’s his overall game that catches the eye. The ability of City’s next Argentine star in tight spaces and his ability to play an incisive pass was on display. The highlights which can be seen below show that Manchester City have secured a supremely talented young prodigy.

There are shades of David Silva in Echeverri’s game. His ability to create space and find a pass is reminiscent of the Manchester City legend. The young playmaker at times also resembles another former City youth product. Esteemed Kompany host Steven Mcinerney drew comparisons to Brahim Diaz via his X account.

Echeverri has the talent to make an immediate impact at Manchester City

Manchester City have landed a special talent in Echeverri. Manchester City fans and the club will be keeping a close eye on the progress of the young Argentine star during his loan spell at River Plate. The loan spell in his native country could lay the foundation for his arrival at the Etihad. Playing in the tough Argentinian league will give him experience against seasoned professionals before he finally arrives at Manchester City.

While most youngsters tend to spend time on loan or with the EDS when they arrive at the club Echeverri could find himself in the first-team mix when he finally arrives at City next year. He is such a special talent he could become Pep Guardiola’s long-term replacement for Kevin De Bruyne. While that possibility is some time away the treble winners appear to have landed someone who can eventually make a massive impact during his time at the club.

While it will be just under 12 months before he arrives at the Etihad it does seem apparent that he could find himself in Pep Guardiola’s squad when he finally arrives.
