The latest helping of Manchester City’s long losing buffet comes courtesy of two Americans.
Juventus manager Thiago Motta brought USMNT stars Timothy Weah and Weston McKennie off the bench in the 69th minute of Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League match versus Man City.
The 26-year-old McKennie was working his first minute in two weeks after missing time with muscle fatigue, and the good news for everyone but City is that the midfielder looks fresh.
Leading 1-0, McKennie starts a combination play by sending Weah out wide to the right. The winger has his first cross blocked by City, but Weah spins his second effort to the heart of the box.
It’s running away from McKennie, so the USMNT man adjusts his body and slams a side volley past a helpless Ederson to make it 2-0.
It’s McKennie’s second goal of this Champions League season, both coming at home in Turin.
