They have made up their minds : Two Man City players submits transfer request
Jack Grealish Man City Kyle Walker
Kyle Walker could leave Man City in the January transfer window and there are also “doubts” about Jack Grealish’s future with the club, The Athletic have reported.
The issue of whether a 12-month extension in the contract of Ilkay Gundogan is triggered is also up in the air among a series of potential exits from the champions’ squad.
The German though, is apparently eyeing a role as part of Pep Guardiola’s staff once he retires from playing, potentially as an assistant.
It is noted that Walker’s departure from Man City could come after being linked with a move away recently, and some poor form on the pitch recently, while Grealish, 29, has been in and out of the XI this term following a difficult campaign last season.
There are other issues to consider as well, with Kevin De Bruyne, who has held talks over a move to MLS, Ederson and Bernardo Silva also noted to be among those facing uncertain future at the club.
However, the reigning Premier League champions would apparently be reluctant to let too many of their experienced players leave in one go.
Pep Guardiola must prepare for Man City overhaul
Football Insider Opinion
It feels as though those at The Etihad may need to prepare for the proverbial changing of the guard in the next few months.
A number of players who they have relied on for so long, such as Walker, are now well into theirs 30s and in the latter stages of their careers.

That is starting to show on the pitch – with Gundogan another who has been caught out recently – and in the treatment room.
Man City are, perhaps partly because of that, now on their worst run under Guardiola, having failed to win any of their last six, losing five and throwing away a three-goal lead to draw with Feyenoord in the Champions League.
It is form that simply cannot continue if they are to meet their trophy-winning aspirations, but it’ feels’s hard to see how this aging squad can turn that around based on the last few performances.
Grealish is something of an outlier here in that he only turned 29 a couple of months ago. However, he has struggled for game time and form for some time, so is another they might be able to cope without.
That may mean Man City are going to have to bring in some considerable reinforcements soon, and others such as those mentioned here, may have to be moved on to make space for those arrivals.
