Manchester United are offering Anthony Martial to Real Madrid on loan with an option to buy

With just days to go, Manchester United’s focus is more on expenditure than revenue, as the latter will be funded by the former.

In this regard, the Spanish newspaper Fichajes reports that United have offered Anthony Martial to Real Madrid.

The French striker has been offered a loan deal with an option, not an obligation, to buy back on a transfer that could be a good fit for La Liga.

Carlo Ancelotti’s men are struggling with the injury of striker Vinicius Jr. and need further reinforcements up front, with Joselu the only natural option at the top.

Martial could be a good fallback, above all because he doesn’t need any commitment from the Blancos, given that there is no obligation to make the transfer definitive. It would allow them to evaluate its performance for them and make a decision accordingly

It would also benefit United, as Real Madrid remain one of the few clubs that can afford to pay Martial’s salary of nearly £250,000 a week.

The Frenchman has struggled to regain consistent form at Old Trafford and his injuries have not helped.

He recently made his return from another long-term problem, starting against Nottingham Forest.

However, his physicality and his pace seemed to have been marred by injuries as he played an unsuccessful game.

The slower, more technical game in Spanish football may suit him better, as well as Real Madrid’s world-class midfield. Should Los Blancos agree to take back all or most of his salary, it would be a move that would benefit all parties.

Madrid will be given a stopgap for Vinicius’ absence, United will fill a huge wage gap with the possibility of future transfer fees and the player will be able to restart his career away from the environment that gave him his most frustrating time to start  his career
