Man Utd player involved in ‘furious’ bust-up with teammate spotted in training ahead of Crystal Palace clash
A young Manchester United player previously involved in an ugly training ground bust-up might be about to get his chance to make amends.
On Tuesday night the Old Trafford club take on Palace at home in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
United, who won the competition last season, enter the game fresh from a crucial 1-0 victory over Burnley.
Indeed, Erik ten Hag’s side, who had lost the previous three games, are languishing in ninth in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Palace are tenth, a place and a point below United, despite the injury absences of Michael Olise and summer signings Matheus França and Jefferson Lerma.
Roy Hodgson’s men came from behind to beat Plymouth 4-2 in the second round of the competition courtesy of an Odsonne Édouard goal and Jean-Philippe Mateta hat-trick.
After their tepid 0-0 draw with Fulham on Saturday Hodgson complained about a lack of resources ahead of Tuesday’s match, with the club affected by a spate of injuries.
United too have had to contend with several injuries at the start of the campaign but will be bolstered by Mason Mount and Harry Maguire’s return to training.
Meanwhile, United youngster Dan Gore was among those spotted training at Carrington, and the under-18 England international could be set to feature in Tuesday’s cup tie.
Gore, an attacking midfielder, impressed Ten Hag in pre-season but at present is best known for a historical training ground bust-up with Anthony Martial.
Last November, with large swathes of Ten Hag’s squad at the World Cup, the United starlet was invited to train with the first team. Things, however, did not go particularly smoothly.
As per the Mirror, the 18-year-old clattered Martial with a crunching challenge despite tackles on established first-team stars having been forbidden.
Tempers then boiled over with the French “furious” star lashing out before the pair were pulled apart.
Martial apologised shortly after with peace then being restored at Carrington.

Manchester United take on Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup third round on Tuesday night. Here are four things spotted in training ahead of the encounter.
United, who are the competition holders, take on Palace fresh from having edged past Burnley 1-0 on Saturday night, ending a three-game losing streak in the process.
They will face Roy Hodgson’s injury-hit Palace outfit, who are tenth in the Premier League table, a point and a place below United, but without the likes of Michael Olise, Matheus França and potentially Jefferson Lerma for the cup clash.
While United received a bye for the opening round, Palace came from behind to dispatch Plymouth 4-2, courtesy of a Jean-Philippe Mateta hat-trick.
Despite their poor early season form, United will surely be a tougher test for the Hodgson’s men. Here are four things that have been spotted at Carrington ahead of the match.
Mason Mount returns to training
Mason Mount could be in line for a return to action this week, having trained with the United squad ahead of Tuesday’s Carabao Cup tie with Palace.
Mount had been sidelined through injury since a defeat at Tottenham Hotspur in the club’s second Premier League match of the season.
But the England international appears to be stepping up his recovery ahead of the Carabao Cup tie.
Harry Maguire returns to training
Harry Maguire has also been pictured going through his paces at Carrington.
The centre-back missed United’s Champions League 4-3 defeat to Bayern Munich alongside the weekend win at Burnley, with 35-year-old Jonny Evans coming in instead.
Altay Bayindir set to make debut?
Altay Bayindir has been spotted in training and could be set to make his first appearance for United if Erik ten Hag opts to rotate his goalkeepers in the Carabao Cup.
United signed the Turkey international from Fenerbahce for £4.3million on Transfer Deadline Day, with the 25-year-old joining on a four-year contract.
Dan Gore and James Nolan in first-team training
Dan Gore and James Nolan were among several youngsters included in first-team training ahead of the game.
The academy prospects could be selected in Ten Hag’s squad for the cup competitions.
Four Man United stars involved in furious bust-up after Brighton defeat
Four Manchester United players were reportedly involved in a furious bust-up following Saturday’s 3-1 loss to Brighton at Old Trafford.
Erik Ten Hag’s side were beaten for the third time in five games this season, with goals from Danny Welbeck, Pascal Gross and Joao Pedro were enough to condemn United to their worst-ever Premier League start.
United were truly played off the park on their own patch and according to The Sun, tempers flared in the dressing room after the game.

A new report published on Monday evening claims there were two separate bust-ups. Captain Bruno Fernandes is said to have laid into midfield colleague Scott McTominay after his first start of the new season, while centre-back Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof also got into it.
United, currently in 13th place in the Premier League, return to action on Wednesday with a Champions League group stage clash with Bayern Munich.
On Saturday there were boos when new £72 million signing Rasmus Hojlund was substituted on his full debut, while jeers could also be heard at the final whistle as a dismal period for United continues.
The club’s business in the transfer market was deemed a tad underwhelming after there was no movement in regards to a takeover and the handling of the Mason Greenwood situation was less than impressive to say the least.
Brazilian winger Antony is on an extended leave of absence amid allegations of domestic abuse and assault, while Jadon Sancho has been banished from the United first-team after refusing to apologise for Ten Hag.
The England international had hit back at his manager for claiming he was omitted from the squad for the 3-1 defeat to Arsenal for not performing at the expected level in training.
Sancho, who said he had been “a scapegoat”, is “on a personal training programme” until the matter is resolved.
There is also the small matter of Harry Maguire still being on the books of United despite links to West Ham following the decision to take the captaincy from him.
Man Utd player involved in training ground fight creates transfer problem for Erik ten Hag
Manchester United’s Hannibal Mejbri has emerged as a target for Besiktas, according to a fresh report.
According to Fanatik, the Turkish Super Lig side are interested in signing the United youngster ahead of the country’s transfer window closing on Friday.
Besiktas have already reportedly made contact with United, offering a loan deal with an option to buy, that was duly turned down by the Old Trafford club.
And after the initial snub, the Turkish side has reportedly returned with another proposal for a dry loan.
United however are yet to make a decision on whether to retain the player at Old Trafford.
One of Hannibal’s more memorable moments with the United senior team was a training ground bust-up with Alex Telles during Ralf Rangnick’s tumultuous reign – an incident which the Sun claimed left the rest of the United squad “stunned”.
However, the youngster impressed in pre-season, and Erik ten Hag is in turn, undecided over whether to allow the player to leave on loan in the coming days.
Besiktas are said to be waiting on Ten Hag’s final decision.
Last term Hannibal was on loan at Birmingham, where he claimed a goal and six assists in his 41 appearances. This campaign, however, the 20-year-old is yet to feature for United this season.
But Ten Hag will not want to lose any talent from his forward line, given the situation of Antony and Jadon Sancho.
Antony has agreed to take time away from the United until further notice while he fights three women’s assault accusations. The winger vehemently denies all the claims made against him.
Elsewhere, Ten Hag’s tension with Sancho went public earlier this month after the England forward publicly refuted his manager’s claim he was not in the United’s squad against Arsenal because of performances in training.
The 23-year-old winger stated Ten Hag’s comments were “completely untrue” in an outburst on social media, adding that he had become a “scapegoat”.

Ten Hag receives huge boost ahead of Crystal Palace clash with Man Utd star back in contention
Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag could soon welcome back one first team star to his squad as his side’s busy January schedule continues on Wednesday against Crystal Palace.
United are looking to make it six Premier League wins in a row, taking on a Palace side that have won just one of their five games in all competitions since the conclusion of the World Cup break.
Ten Hag’s side will move up to second place in the table with a victory, six points behind leaders Arsenal having played a game more.
The 2-1 win over Manchester City saw United turn a losing position into a winning one, with late goals from Bruno Fernandes – amid offside controversy – and Marcus Rashford helping them to victory at Old Trafford.
Rashford picked up a knock in the win, although is only rated as a ‘minor doubt’ for the clash at Selhurst Park, while Anthony Martial could also miss out with a fitness issue after being forced off at half-time against City.
In other news on the availabilty front, United may soon be able to include a long-term absentee in their squad.
Ten Hag set to welcome back Man Utd star
Manchester Evening News have reported that Jadon Sancho has been back in full training ahead of the Palace fixture, having returned individually and in small groups with squad players since returning to Carrington two weeks ago.
The England international was not selected in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the World Cup, and spent part of the break training alone in the Netherlands alongside a coach recommended by Ten Hag.
Last month, the Dutchman opened up on the reasons why Sancho would initially not return to United for the resumption of club football (quotes via Daily Mail): “Sometimes there are circumstances with fitness and mood. We got a drop of quality level and sometimes you don’t know why or what is causing it.
“That is what we are doing now to try to get him back there. It is a combination of physically and mentally.”
Following Sancho’s return to training, Ten Hag believed that the 24-year-old was in a ‘good direction’, before adding: “In this moment he is not fit enough, no. I said, physical. But physical is also the connection with mental. I think he is now making good progress in the physical part, and that will help him.”
United will hope that the wide forward can return to the squad soon to help them in their pursuit of success on multiple fronts this season.
