Aaron Wan-Bissaka to bid farewell to Old Trafford on Wednesday night

Aaron Wan-Bissaka looks set to play his final game at Old Trafford as a Manchester United player on Wednesday night.

The full-back has a year left to run on his contract which means this summer is United’s last real chance to cash in on the 26-year-old.

After leaving Crystal Palace, Wan-Bissaka signed for United in June 2019, earning a five-year deal. The option of a further year was triggered last season.

Like most United transfers in the Sir Alex Ferguson era, the £45 million flop has been another stain on the recruitment department’s reputation.

According to The Sun, Wan-Bissaka will join Raphael Varane and Anthony Martial in saying farewell to Old Trafford on Wednesday night when United take on Newcastle in their final home game of the season.

The contracts of Varane and Martial are up this summer, with the latter announcing his departure on Tuesday.

Neil Custis claims a T-shirt has been printed in his honour with an image of him lifting the Carabao Cup at Wembley.

Wan-Bissaka could win another trophy when United take on rivals Man City in the FA Cup final later this month. He has played 20 games so far this season, amounting to 1601 minutes.

The former England U21 international has been linked with a return to Palace, while Wolves were said to be interested in signing Wan-Bissaka last summer.

That’s why I think it is worth keeping an eye on West Ham, with Julen Lopetegui set to replace David Moyes as manager. He wanted Wan-Bissaka a year ago but Wolves couldn’t make it happen.

Furthermore, it is understood that Wan-Bissaka would prefer a move to London.

United are expected to drop their asking price for Wan-Bissaka down to £20 million.

Manchester United are expecting a very busy few months of incomings and outgoings in summer 2024.

It is the first summer transfer window in which Ineos will be pulling the strings, with new technical director Jason Wilcox already appointed.

Chief executive Omar Berrada is scheduled to begin work on July 13. The club are also working to appoint sporting director Dan Ashworth.

United In Focus are tracking every single incoming and outgoing, and this page will be updated with every move right up until transfer deadline day.
