Alejandro Garnacho sends a three word message to teammates after resumption

Alejandro Garnacho has sent a heartfelt message to one Manchester United star after linking up with his club teammate ahead of the new season.

The 20-year-old Spain-born winger was among the Manchester United first-team players to be absent from pre-season due to international duty.

Alejandro Garnacho was called up by 2022 World Cup champions Argentina for the country’s Copa America title defence this summer.

The United winger only made one appearance for Argentina at the tournament, while club teammate Lisandro Martinez played a key role for his country.

Garnacho was on the bench for five of the six Copa America matches, with Argentina going on to retain their title at the tournament in the United States.

Both Lisandro Martinez and Garnacho received extended breaks in the aftermath of the 2024 Copa America while United underwent their pre-season tour.

Garnacho’s message to Man Utd star

Alejandro Garnacho returned to the Carrington training complex last Friday alongside the likes of Bruno Fernandes ahead of the 2024-25 Premier League season.

Altay Bayindir and Diogo Dalot were two other players who reported to Carrington last week, having received extended breaks in the aftermath of Euro 2024.

Erik ten Hag received a further boost on Monday with the return of four more United first-team players, including England duo Kobbie Mainoo and Luke Shaw.

Both Kobbie Mainoo and Luke Shaw, much like Garnacho, were absent from the pre-season campaign due to representing England at Euro 2024 in Germany.

Garnacho took to Instagram Stories and shared a poignant message, with the United winger posting photos of him alongside Mainoo at United’s Carrington training base.

“My brother,” he wrote, adding a heart emoji.

Mainoo, who played a starring role for England at this summer’s Euros, also took to Instagram Stories and posted a fingers crossed emoji on his photo with Garnacho.

Man Utd prepare for new season

Manchester United signed off their pre-season tour in the United States with a 3-0 defeat to Premier League rivals Liverpool on Sunday.

Erik ten Hag’s men will now turn their attention to Saturday for their trip to Wembley for the Community Shield clash against Manchester City.

United’s Premier League season will officially begin on 16th August when they host Fulham at Old Trafford for their opening match of the 2024-25 campaign.

The Red Devils will then travel away to the Amex later this month for their Premier League clash against Brighton on 24th August.
