Casemiro ‘I regret’ signing for Man Utd star and coming to Old Trafford

A  shocking report has claimed that Casemiro “regrets” joining Manchester United after witnessing the “institutional instability” at Old Trafford.

The Brazilian moved to Old Trafford from Real Madrid in a big-money move last summer and made a huge impression under Erik ten Hag in his debut season, helping United to a top-four finish and Carabao Cup glory. This season, though, Casemiro has struggled, and Catalan publication EL Nacional has claimed that he “regrets” joining the Red Devils. The report also states that Casemiro’s stay in Manchester will be “short-lived” as he has grown concerned by how the club is run off the pitch.

BIGGER PICTURE: Casemiro’s performances have dipped alarmingly amid his apparent loss of faith, and United are reportedly interested in acquiring Benfica’s Joao Neves as a replacement. El Nacional claims that the club have already explored the possibility of signing Neves, and they’ve learnt that they’ll need to spend at least €70 million (£61 m/$74) to sign the Portugal international.

WHAT NEXT? United are unlikely to sell Casemiro in January given the fact he is still under contract until 2026. However, they could make a formal bid for Neves, which might led to Casemiro’s future being evaluated in the summer.

According to 90min, Inter have revealed the exact sum they received from Manchester United for Andre Onana during the summer transfer window.

After David de Gea’s contract expired and he was released, United signed Onana in July, solidifying their long-term replacement. De Gea is still without a club.

During his six years at Ajax, Onana became well-known throughout the world by playing a part in their 2018–19 Champions League run to the semi-finals.

After signing a free transfer to Inter last summer, he helped the Nerazzurri get one step closer to European success by playing a pivotal role in their run to the Champions League final, which they ultimately lost to Manchester City.

Onana’s arrival to United and his reunion with former Ajax manager Erik ten Hag were made possible by Chelsea’s decision to pass on Onana in favor of Robert Sanchez, a cheaper option, earlier in the season.

Before add-ons for Onana, it was claimed at the time of the deal that United had paid a fee little over €46 million (£40 million). Inter has now revealed in their public financial reports that the amount paid was actually €50.2 million (£43.7 million).

With the transaction, Onana became Inter’s fifth-most expensive sale in history, trailing only Mauro Icardi (€58 million), Achraf Hakimi (€60 million), Zlatan Ibrahimovic (€69 million), and Romelu Lukaku (€115 million).

Onana’s arrival, in comparison, did not even make it into United’s top ten most costly imports; in the same transfer window, they spent more for Mason Mount of Chelsea and Rasmus Hojlund of Atalanta.

Despite a string of mishaps and errors during his first few games at Old Trafford, Onana proved to be a valuable asset in Tuesday’s 1-0 Champions League victory over Kobenhavn, saving a late penalty from Jordan Larsson to secure the three points.
