Deal for Victor Osimhen almost done
One Manchester United ‘cult hero’ could be seriously instrumental in luring £130m target to Old Trafford.
That target? Victor Osimhen, who was rumoured to be a Manchester United target in the summer. But he was rumoured to be a pretty penny, with Napoli holding out for €150m (£130m).
The Super Eagles forward Is worth his weight in gold, however. He was phenomenal for Napoli as they won the Scudetto last season.
But amid the forward being mocked on social media by the club, there are now rumours he’ll be seeking a move away, which is the perfect time for Manchester United to pounce.
Odion Ighalo could be instrumental in securing the move. A former United ‘cult hero‘ in Odion Ighalo could play a huge factor in securing a move.
The forward Is a fellow Nigerian, just like Osimhen and has previously tried to convince the forward to go to the Theatre of Dreams.
“I think it’s a good fit because he is a young boy, he runs and can score goals,” Ighalo told Sky Sports in March 2023. “Having Victor Osimhen and Rashford in the top at Manchester United will cause any defender panic because they are two fast players and they are goal scorers.

“I think he will fit in Manchester United so well. If he asked for my opinion and what should he do, I would advise him to join Man United because, for me, they are the biggest club.”
Of course, the striker did not join in the summer, but after recent events – could United go back in the race?
Ighalo will definitely be once again convincing the striker that Manchester is the correct destination. But now begs the question as to whether he’s a necessity going forward – particularly for the price tag.
The major Osimhen rumours came before Rasmus Hojlund entered the frame at Old Trafford.
The young Danish forward has looked impressive in his first few games, so do United really need another expensive forward?
In our opinion… yes. You look at the world’s best clubs and they constantly have players fighting for positions, United should also be striving for this.
At the price? It may be a different story, but Osimhen would be a complete game-changer.

A former Manchester United star once parked in Sir Alex Ferguson’s space at the club’s training ground, and his team-mates thought he was going to get sacked for it Sir Alex Ferguson has always seemed like the kind of bloke you wouldn’t want to annoy – especially if you’re a newbie.
Former Manchester United midfielder Kleberson did exactly that, mere weeks after signing for the club in 2003. He unknowingly left his car in Ferguson’s parking space at the club’s Carrington training ground one morning, and immediately found himself getting the spine-chilling Scot’s infamous hairdryer treatment.
Speaking the Daily Mail, the Brazilian recalled: “As soon as I start to run with the guys [in training], I saw Sir Alex Ferguson walk to the building. He starts to scream.
“My English at that time was really bad, I couldn’t understand anything. I just understand like, ‘Car parking’. And the guys ask the question, ‘Who parked their car in Sir Alex Ferguson’s spot?’”
Ferguson soon found out and laid into his perplexed new recruit. The telling off was apparently so bad that Kleberson’s team-mates feared he might have his contract ripped up there and then.
Despite the intimidating introduction, Kleberson says he enjoyed life under Ferguson and revealed that the 13-time Premier League winner even tried to learn a bit of Portuguese to make him feel at home. “So he’d learn all of the weekdays and times in Portuguese, which I thought was really good of him,” Kleberson revealed in an interview with Ladbrokes last year.
“It’s such a funny moment to think about, because he’s one of the biggest managers in world football and he’s taking the time to learn the languages of his players – he’s an amazing manager. He knew what his players needed at all times, he was an incredible mentor. He really tried to make me comfortable at the club, even up until my last day!”
