Former Manchester City midfielder, Joey Barton has called for the sack of England football manager Gareth Southgate.
This comes after the Three Lions were defeated 1-0 in a friendly tie against Brazil on Saturday.
According to him, if England want to win any trophy amid the upcoming Euro 2024 in Germany, then Southgate has to go.
“Southgate has to go if we want to win anything,” Barton wrote on X.
“If you want to win. Employ the very best. Gareth unfortunately, is not. He’s had his go, the team needs an elite leader.
“This group could win something with the right general.”
Southgate will now hope his team will bounce back from their defeat when they face Belgium in their next friendly game on Tuesday.

It is the first loss for the Three Lions since they lost to France in the World Cup quarter-final.
Endrick scored the goal in the second half, after Vinicius Jr’s shot was pushed away by Jordan Pickford.
The 17-year-old becomes the youngest-ever goalscorer at Wembley.
Brazil almost had a late second, but Endrick saw his shot saved by Pickford.
The Selecao were deserved winners, missing several big chances in the first-half and dominating Gareth Southgate’s men.

England manager, Gareth Southgate said Ezri Konsa was excellent, while Anthony Gordon and Ollie Watkins did a good job against Brazil.
A second half goal from Endrick gave Brazil the victory against the Three Lions at Wembley.
Speaking at his post-match interview after the game, Southgate said:
“I thought Anthony was very good. Both sides of his game looked very accomplished.
“Ezri, to come in at the moment he did and to deal with a player of that quality (Vinicius), I thought he was also excellent, showed real composure and he should be really happy with his debut. We were really pleased with him.”
He added, “I thought Ollie did a good job, didn’t get that clear chance on goal that you might want as a forward but a lot of his work was very, very good.”
