Erik ten Hag was forced into a last-minute transfer after the recent setback at Man Utd
Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag is in the hunt for a left-back ahead of next week’s transfer deadline after Luke Shaw suffered an injury this week.
Erik ten Hag may have to look to the transfer market to sign a left-back at short notice following the injury to Luke Shaw.
Manchester United are still looking to sign new faces ahead of next week’s transfer deadline after a lackluster start to the Premier League season, with a midfielder seemingly high on Ten Hag’s wishlist.
However, the Dutchman might be forced to look for more cover in defense after Shaw suffered a muscle injury; This means the Red Devils will go into the game against Nottingham Forest this weekend without a recognized senior left-back.
According to the Manchester Evening News, Shaw’s problem – which will likely leave him sidelined for several weeks – means United are now on the hunt for another left-back before next week’s transfer deadline.
Tyrell Malacia, the club’s only other senior player in the role, is still out due to an unspecified injury which caused him to miss pre-season. Alvaro Fernandez is currently the club’s only recognized left-back but hasn’t played for the senior side yet and could be sold before September 1.
Funds are tight at Old Trafford after spending more than £170m over the summer. Another unplanned signing is therefore unlikely to help Ten Hag as he tries to strengthen other areas of his squad.
Made in the same color as the city’s iconic red rose, United’s Adidas home shirt has a black collar. The collar also sports pops of red and white, giving it a clean, modern look.
