European club chief executive says Manchester United are not training with squad and will be sold if right offer arrives

Fiorentina chief executive Joe Barone said Manchester United goalkeeper Sofyan Amrabat would not train with the first team ahead of a possible transfer and that the midfielder would be sold if the right offer for the Moroccan star arrives.

The 27-year-old is Erik ten Hag’s main focus in midfield at Man United and the Red Devils are looking to get the Moroccan to Old Trafford before the transfer window closes. However, the Manchester club need to sack some players first, with Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek offering some names for sale.

Fiorentina travel to Rapid Vienna for the first leg of the Europa Conference League on Thursday evening and Amrabat is not in the squad, suggesting the midfielder could make a move in the coming days.

According to the Daily Mail, Fiorentina have given Amrabat a deadline to decide whether to leave the club. The Moroccan star could leave for around £30 million, which would be a good deal for those interested

Joe Barone, CEO of Fiorentina, spoke to Sky Sport Italia about Amrabat, specifying that if the right offer arrives for the midfielder, he will be sold. Through Fabrizio Romano he said: “Sofyan does not collaborate with the team, but we have not yet received an offer for Amrabat this summer.

If there are dissatisfied players, we can of course consider an offer for them.”

It remains to be seen whether Manchester United will submit an offer for Amrabat before the transfer window closes, but it is clear that if they do, there is a good chance the Premier League side will acquire the player.
