“He’ll be leaving this next week, he has told all of us…I cried when I heard it because he’s irreplaceable”: Rasmus Hojlund reveals Man United star has confirmed he’ll be leaving this summer after hearing who the Club is about to sign

A Manchester United star is reportedly ready to quit the club this summer, but he’s already ruled out the possibility of moving to the Saudi Pro League.

With INEOS keen to overhaul the Man Utd squad over the coming transfer windows, a number of senior players will likely be shown the door this summer.

The club have already offloaded the likes of Anthony Martial and Raphael Varane with both players set to leave at the end of the month upon their contracts expiring.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka looks increasingly likely to leave this summer with the full-back currently attracting interest from the likes of Roma and Galatasaray.

Denmark international Christian Eriksen is another Man Utd player who has been linked with an exit in recent weeks and the 32-year-old now seems to have made up his mind.

According to Football Insider, Eriksen has already told his friends that he is ‘ready to quit’ the club this summer.

The experienced playmaker only has one more year to run on his contract at Old Trafford and the club aren’t likely to demand a huge fee in order to sanction his sale.

Eriksen has already received interest from clubs in Turkey and Saudi Arabia, although the Danish star doesn’t have any plans to leave Europe any time soon.

Eriksen rules out Saudi move

Clubs from Saudi Arabia are expected to be busy in the summer transfer window once again. Last year they managed to lure the likes of Neymar, Riyad Mahrez and Karim Benzema to the league and they plan to invest more funds this summer.

While Eriksen could land himself a lucrative deal in Saudi Arabia, the midfielder doesn’t seem interested in leaving Europe at this point of his career.

“I have never received an offer [from Saudi Arabia], and I have made sure that I have never been approached,” Eriksen reporters before Euro 2024.

“If my agent has said something, I’ve always said that I don’t even want to know what it is because it’s not something that interests me.

“I can understand that it can be difficult to say no, and we have also talked about that before – also for the club. I understand that it can be really difficult to say no if you see how much money is involved, but I just try to avoid it completely so that I don’t get to know how much it could be. I’m not going there.”

Given Eriksen only started in 12 Premier League matches last season, it makes sense that he is ready to move on this summer.

Man Utd have been exploring midfield options of late, with PSG star Xavi Simons the latest player linked with Erik ten Hag’s side.

According to TEAMtalk sources, Simons representatives have been in contact with Man Utd, although a loan move seems more feasible than a permanent at this stage.

“Pep Guardiola wanted to discourage me from signing him but I still want to sign him…He knows with such player they won’t be any trophy for them next season”: Erik ten Hag defends Man United transfer target after Pep Guardiola’s comment

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has been working as a pundit for Dutch television during the Euros.

Erik ten Hag has been enjoying working as a pundit during Euro 2024 after his Manchester United future was confirmed.

Ten Hag discussed his own situation, praised Serbia star Dusan Tadic, and even found time to praise former Manchester United loanee Wout Weghorst.

Another player the manager became involved in discussion over was Paris Saint-Germain owned star Xavi Simons, who spent last season on loan at RB Leipzig.

Erik ten Hag defends Xavi Simons from criticism

Xavi Simons started for the Netherlands in their Euro 2024 opening game against Poland, a 2-1 win. He began on the right side of attack, with Tijani Reijnders playing behind striker Cody Gakpo.

Simons’ performance was criticised in studio by Dutch legend Marco van Basten, who told Voetbal Zone: “I didn’t like him, I actually thought he was a bit disappointing.”

Erik ten Hag expressed some sympathy, pointing out that Simons was being played away from his best position, and thought he offered some positives.

He explained: “He really plays in the 10 position there and that is where his strength really lies. I didn’t find him that disappointing.

“He didn’t play very well, but I think he had good positions. A number of good actions, It wasn’t always easy to get the ball.

“He certainly had his good moments.”

He did admit that it would not be a surprise if the Dutch decide to select Jeremie Frimpong in the next game at the position.

Manchester United do admire Xavi Simons

Fabrizio Romano reported last summer that Manchester United expressed interest in Xavi Simons, but Paris Saint-Germain held the advantage as they decided to activate their buy-back clause.

Simons, 21, scored 10 goals and provided 13 assists for RB Leipzig on loan last season.

HITC report PSG are interested in letting Simons leave on loan again next season, without an option to buy, claiming Manchester United would be interested in this arrangement.

Ten Hag’s admiration for Simons explains United’s interest – but he will not be dictating transfer policy this summer, with Ineos taking a more firm-handed approach to the window.

Man United officially announce the signing of right-back after beating out Premier League competition to acquire player

Man United have signed talented right-back James Overy, who comes in full of promise.

Manchester United now know that Erik ten Hag will remain in charge for the new season, hence, planning will now be well underway.

The Old Trafford club, now under INEOS’ ownership and guidance, will be looking to make some signings that help push the Red Devils up the Premier League table.

Well, signings are now starting to be made. According to the Manchester Evening News, United have officially completed the signing of right-back, James Overy.

The Red Devils had to beat out Premier League competition from West Ham and Leicester City to acquire the former A-League player.

Overy relocated to England last year, though United have been hot on his tail since an impressive game for the Perth Glory in pre-season as a fifteen-year-old.

A few weeks ago, United were in a strong place to complete the deal to sign the young man. It has now been officially completed.

Overy will sign on an initial scholarship deal, as he cannot sign pro terms until he turns seventeen.

You’d imagine the right-back will go straight into the U18 squad this summer, looking to prove his worth and push towards the first-team over the next few seasons.

I always like hearing about these acquisitions. United tend to fare better when they opt for younger players who they develop and mould, rather than signing these ready-made stars who often wilt and struggle under the immense pressure they’re under.

Overy may turn into a world-beater. He may not. We will certainly find out in the coming years.

Man United announce the signing of centre-back after imminent agreement

Jonny Evans has agreed a new one-year contract at Man United, sources have told Football Insider.

It is believed an announcement on the 36-year-old’s future is imminent with his current deal set to expire at the end of this month.

Contract talks between United and the veteran defender have been positive and all signs now point to a renewal.

Evans was a surprise signing for the Red Devils last summer (2023) but played a key role after a wave of defensive injuries.

A well-placed source has told Football Insider that manager Erik ten Hag is a “huge fan” of the Northern Irishman and has given the green light to what is an unexpected extension given the player’s age.

Evans agrees new Man United deal – Ten Hag is a ‘huge fan’

One of the first tasks for Ten Hag after confirming he will stay on as boss at Old Trafford will be to tie Evans down to a renewed contract – with his role in the dressing room believed to be a key factor in the decision.

The centre-back made 30 appearances in the 2023-24 campaign, starting in 17 of those outings.

Evans came through the academy system at United and made 198 appearances in his first spell at the club before leaving for West Brom in 2015.

Ten Hag and his recruitment staff are looking to strengthen elsewhere in defensive areas with Raphael Varane departing this month.

Football Insider revealed on Monday (17 June) that Man United are planning to submit a new offer for Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite this week.

An initial bid of around £35million plus add-ons was rejected by Everton, who are holding out for a valuation of around £80million for the 21-year-old.

In other news, Man United scouts amazed by what they’ve seen from teenager.
