“I love to join NOW” ; £105m Manchester United target reveals desire to join club amid transfer links
Benfica starlet Joao Neves is continuing to be heavily linked with a move to Man United ahead of the summer transfer window opening.
With just over a week to go until the summer transfer window opens, speculation linking Benfica ace Joao Neves with a move to Manchester United is mounting.
United have plans to strengthen their midfield options this summer and Neves, 19, is a player they have been linked with consistently over the last few months. The youngster is regarded as one of the most promising central midfielders in Europe and is not light on suitors.

Primarily a defensive midfielder, he fits the bill for what United are set to be looking for. The club is highly likely to say farewell to Casemiro this summer, meaning they will need a successor.
The Brazilian regressed throughout the 2023/24 campaign, meaning he needs replacing. United need fresh legs at the base of the engine room.
Despite only being 19, he has already played 75 times for Benfica, including nine appearances in the Champions League. He was a regular fixture in the team this season, making 55 appearances across all competitions.

According to Portuguese outlet Record, United have seen an opening bid of £51million rejected for the youngster. Neves’ release clause is understood to be £105m, meaning the Reds have fallen well short.

Whether United will go back in with a second offer remains to be seen, but they already have the knowledge that the midfielder has refrained from committing his future to Benfica, leaving the door open for a move elsewhere.
Speaking back in February, the Portuguese, who has made the squad for the European Championship, said: “Staying at Benfica next year? I can’t promise anything for next season.
“My wish at the moment is to stay at Benfica and then we will see, you never know.”
The fact Neves has refused to rule out the prospect of leaving the Portuguese club could be music to United’s ears. They need to recruit younger legs this summer and Sir Jim Ratcliffe has already addressed the need to change their recruitment strategy.
Neves is a player that fits that vision, but he is not going to be a cheap addition. United need to strike a fine balance between recruiting young players and not paying over the odds.
Neves, however, has demonstrated all of the hallmarks of a player who has plenty of potential. He is solid in possession and has an excellent reading of the game.
United have been searching for a long-term answer at the base of their midfield for several years and Neves could be just the ticket. Benfica’s demands, however, could decide United’s chances of signing him, even if the midfielder would be open to a new challenge.

Manchester United are interested in signing Jarrad Branthwaite, Gleison Bremer and Jean-Clair Todibo as they look to bolster their central defensive options this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
Speaking on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke revealed bringing in a marquee centre-back is one of the key priorities as the INEOS regime looks to stamp its authority on the Man United squad.
Branthwaite, 21, is believed to be the Red Devils’ top defensive target after Football Insider revealed Old Trafford chiefs have made signing the Everton defender a priority this summer.
O’Rourke revealed Juventus star Bremer, 27, has been on Man United’s radar for some time, while they have also sent scouts to watch another big name, Todibo, 24, in action for Nice, who are part-owned by INEOS
Branthwaite and Todibo are under contract until 2027, with Bremer’s deal running until 2028.
It was revealed in March the defensive trio make up a three-man shortlist to join Man United this summer as Rafael Varane is set to leave the club and speculation continues around Harry Maguire’s future.
Branthwaite has drawn the attention of multiple top clubs following several impressive performances since breaking into the Everton team last season.
The Red Devils are monitoring the England international’s situation after Football Insider revealed on 21 May the Toffees will need to sell at least one of their “big” stars before they submit their accounts at the end of this month to help balance the books.
O’Rourke suggested Bremer is also firmly on the radar at Old Trafford after the club have sent scouts to watch the Brazilian for Juventus, where he started in all 40 of his appearances last season.
Todibo also remains a potential target for Man United, but a transfer for the Frenchman could be difficult to pull off after Football Insider revealed in March senior figures at Nice are prepared to block any deal from taking place this summer.

Manchester United will have to improve the midfield if they want to push for trophies in next season. They need to bring in a midfield controller who can control the tempo of the game and a defensive midfielder who will help shield the back four and break up opposition attacks. The Danish international could be the ideal acquisition for them and he would help Manchester United improve further.
The Red Devils have missed out on Champions League qualification and they will look to bounce back strongly next year. Signing the right players will help them improve.
Hjulmand is likely to be attracted to the idea of joining one of the biggest clubs in the world and Manchester United could provide him with the platform to showcase his abilities at a higher level. It remains to be seen whether they can agree on a fee with Sporting CP now.
A move to the Premier League will be a major step in the 24-year-old’s career and he has the qualities and the mentality to succeed in English football. It remains to be seen whether he can establish himself as a player for the English club.

Manchester United are reportedly interested in the West Ham United attacker Mohammed Kudus.
The 24-year-old has been outstanding since he moved to the Premier League and he has been a key player for West Ham. According to a report from the Mirror, Manchester United want to improve their attacking unit and they have identified the African star as a potential target.
They are looking at the Wolves attacker Matheus Cunha as well. It will be interesting to see if Manchester United follow up on their interest with an offer in the coming weeks. The Ghanaian could be attracted to the idea of joining a big club like Manchester United.
The Red Devils are one of the biggest clubs in the world and the opportunity to play for them can be hard to turn down. The 24-year-old will look to compete at the highest level and push for major trophies in the coming seasons. Manchester United could provide him with the platform to compete with the biggest clubs in the country.
Kudus has 18 goals and seven assists in all competitions this season and he could prove to be a major upgrade on players like Antony. The West Ham star is versatile enough to play on either flank as well as a centre forward.
Manchester United need a versatile attacker like him to support the likes of Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford. He could complete the Manchester United attack for the foreseeable future.
Convincing the player should not be a major problem for the Red Devils. Erik ten Hag has already worked with him during their time together at Ajax and the Dutch manager could play a key role in convincing the attacker to join the club. It remains to be seen whether Manchester United can convince West Ham to accept a reasonable offer for him.
