Manchester United are set to raise funds for outcast Jadon Sancho, while Roma manager Jose Mourinho is interested in a move for the winger.
This comes as Sancho’s perilous situation at United shows no signs of finding a resolution. Red Devils coach Erik ten Hag banned Sancho from using the club’s facilities, while the player’s teammates tried to convince him to apologize to the coach.
England trio Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw are among those who believe the winger should soften his stance and compromise. Ten Hag would like to prevent a disillusioned player from spreading negativity and causing disharmony within his team. Sancho took to social media to refute Ten Hag’s claim that he was left out of the squad during United’s 3-1 defeat to Arsenal earlier this month due to poor performances in training. He was subsequently left out of first-team training by Ten Hag and was not used for United’s match against Brighton.

The winger was forced to miss further games against Bayern Munich and Burnley and will not be part of United’s squad to face Crystal Palace in the EFL Cup. His situation is such that it is hard to believe club and player will not look to part ways in January unless a solution is found quickly – with Ten Hag expecting an apology.
A report from Il Romanista newspaper has suggested that the Giallorossi could offer Sancho an exit route as Roma coach Mourinho pushes for a move. They suggest the former United boss wants the England international “at all costs” – although it remains to be seen whether Roma can actually fund the deal.
The Italian capital club financed a similar deal to sign Romelu Lukaku on a season-long loan from Chelsea this summer. The Belgium international had been frozen out at Stamford Bridge and the lure of Mourinho and Roma proved too great for Lukaku, so a deal was agreed.

Nevertheless, Roma’s finances are strained; They missed the Champions League again this season and have one of the highest wage bills in Serie A. Sancho is one of the top earners in the Premier League and it is unclear whether Roma could finance this decision.
United, in turn, are said to be interested in approving either a permanent departure or at least a loan fee, with Roma paying the player’s salary in full. Whether this can become a reality remains to be seen, but the longer Sancho remains excluded from the Ten Hag team, the more likely an exit seems.
