Manchester United are ready to switch focus to an impending game with Brighton, after beating Fulham in their Premier League curtain raiser, while also concentrating on the transfer market.
Joshua Zirkzee made a brilliant first impression at Old Trafford on Friday night as the £36million signing scored an 87th-minute winner. Noussair Mazraoui and Matthijs de Ligt – his fellow arrivals – also played no sooner than they touched down as part of a £60million double deal from Bayern Munich.
Mazraoui started and De Ligt was summoned from the substitutes bench. How long before the ex-Ajax defender forces his way into their starting line up, though, as United continue to evolve Erik ten Hag’s squad?
Amid moves to cash-in on Facundo Pellistri and other players, one man (seemingly) staying put for the time being is Jadon Sancho, who was spotted taking part in Monday morning’s session. The former Borussia Dortmund winger was omitted against Fulham as speculation around his future continues to mount.
Sancho was back with his boots laced up, though, alongside Pellistri, Antony and most first-team stars who were involved against Fulham. Here, we take a look at what happened at Carrington – during Monday morning’s session – and what these seven images could mean for United this week.
Speculation over Jadon Sancho and his Old Trafford future remains at fever pitch. However, after the winger was omitted from their squad for the Fulham game, he was spotted at training on Monday morning. If nothing else, that shows no transfer deal is particularly imminent, amid mooted interest from PSG and Chelsea.1 of 7

Tyrell Malacia is looking to relaunch his career after ongoing injury problems have left him sidelined.
A few days ago Tyrell Malacia turned 25. The last time he played for Manchester United he was 23.
The Dutchman is out of sight for Manchester United, battling knee problems that have seen him become a forgotten man – even though United have not yet bought a replacement.

PSV were keen on Tyrell Malacia
During his debut season at United, Tyrell Malacia proved to be a more than reliable backup to Luke Shaw with the Dutchman excelling during the big Premier League games for the Red Devils, including the 2-1 victory over Manchester City.
However, during the previous campaign, Malacia missed the entirety of the season through injury and the Dutchman remains unavailable for the Red Devils.
According to a report from Dutch outlet SoccerNews, Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven were keen on Malacia this summer.
While the United man was discussed as an option, it quickly became apparent that his fitness would be a problem.
PSV learned the defender will need some time to get fit and therefore, the club ended their interest in Malacia and are looking at other targets.
Malacia is not expected to return until October, still a couple of months away from full fitness.
It is unclear whether PSV were looking at a permanent move or a loan switch.
United may struggle to make a profit on Malacia
If Malacia’s injury problems continue for the Red Devils, the Dutch left-back may well potentially be the next defender who is made available for transfer next summer.
Had this been last summer, United would have surely made a profit on Malacia, with the Dutchman originally moving to Old Trafford for just £15 million.
However, due to the continued injury problems Malacia has had, United may be lucky to get back even half of their original fee for the Dutchman.
With the promising debut of Noussair Mazraoui for United, Malacia’s future could become a question sooner rather than later. Malacia has to prove his fitness to remain at Old Trafford.
Sales have always been an issue for Manchester United in the 11 years since Sir Alex Ferguson departed the club with the Red Devils struggling to make a profit on players they decide to sell.
Former United winger Dan James remains one of the Red Devils’ most profitable sales with Leeds United spending £25 million to sign the Welsh winger.
This summer, United have sold Mason Greenwood to Marseille which represents pure profit on the accounts. However, Aaron Wan Bissaka’s move to West Ham represented a £35 million loss, United need to improve in this regard.
