Man Utd injury news: Erik ten Hag provides update on five players, including Sofyan Amrabat
Manchester United will still be without a number of key players for Vincent Kompany’s trip to Burnley, according to Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has provided an update on the situation of five first-team stars ahead of the Red Devils’ trip to Burnley on Saturday.
It has hardly been a stellar start to the new season for United, who are currently 13th in the table and come into the match at Turf Moor on the back of three consecutive defeats in all competitions. Although Ten Hag’s men were a bit unlucky in losing to Arsenal earlier this month, the way they were beaten at home to Brighton last weekend was no reason to be unlucky.
Things got worse when they scored four goals in a 4-3 defeat to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena in midweek. However, Vincent Kompany’s visit to Burnley offers United a chance to improve the team’s poor run of form. Ahead of the match, Ten Hag was asked for an update on some United regulars who have recently been ruled out due to injury. The Red Devils were without Raphael Varane, Mason Mount, Sofyan Amrabat, Tyrell Malacia and Harry Maguire for a while.
Vincent Kompany was denied a move from Man Utd after Sir Alex Ferguson ‘fell in love’.

It has been suggested that Maguire could be the closest to a return after failing to travel to Monaco on Wednesday after feeling some discomfort after training. The United manager had this to say about their respective returns: Maybe, as you say, Harry Maguire – We’ll see better after training [Friday afternoon].
But Varane will train and we’ll see. Amrabat, he will train and we will see. Mount too, but not all of them played short or long term. Varane obviously had the shortest timeout.”

United have certainly had their fair share of bad luck when it comes to injury problems so early in this season. Mount cost the club £55m and has played just two games so far before suffering a hamstring problem in the 2-0 away defeat to Tottenham. Amrabat was courted by United for most of the summer before finally securing his signature on deadline day, only to miss all of the Red Devils’ games so far due to a stress fracture in his back. Another player who is yet to play a single game for the club this season is Tyrell Malacia.

The Dutch left-back has not been seen since the final game of last season and although he is closing in on a return, Ten Hag has made it clear that Malacia, like Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Amad and Antony was still unavailable.
After the defeat against Brighton, Ten Hag was asked about Varane’s absence. He replied: “He was in trouble, we didn’t want to risk him.” We have to wait.” It looks like the wait will soon be over, but Burnley might be too soon. Join our new WhatsApp community!
