Manchester United have reportedly revised their summer transfer strategy after new head coach Rúben Amorim labelled Diogo Dalot as one of the club’s untouchable players according to TeamTalk.

According to TEAMtalk, Amorim is highly impressed with Dalot’s form and considers the Portugal international essential to his long-term vision at Old Trafford. As a result, the Red Devils are no longer prioritising the signing of a right-sided wing-back this summer.

Dalot, 26, has played a key role under Amorim when fit, making 33 appearances and contributing three goals and three assists this season. Though initially deployed on the left, he made the right wing-back role his own before suffering a calf injury. His adaptability and improved attacking contributions have seemingly cemented his place in Amorim’s plans.

Dalot is reportedly one of just three players Amorim views as non-negotiable assets going into the summer, alongside Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes. This trio is expected to form the spine of the squad as the Portuguese coach builds towards a new era at United.

Meanwhile, the club’s transfer activity remains ambitious. Matheus Cunha is set to become the first major signing, with United closing in on a €74 million deal for the Wolves forward. A centre-forward remains a key target, with Liam Delap understood to be the top choice in that position. A central midfielder is also on the club’s radar.

Interestingly, while the right wing-back position is no longer a priority, the left flank will see more movement. Despite signing Patrick Dorgu from Lecce for €30 million in January, United are expected to pursue another left wing-back.
