Manchester United have taken action after Premier League fixture changes condemned travelling supporters to a sixth late kick-off away from home this season. The TV schedule-oriented switches haven’t been kind to United fans throughout a challenging campaign on the pitch, and the club have offered a classy gesture to those impacted.
The Red Devils’ clash against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park has been changed to an 8pm kick-off on May 6 – a bank holiday.

Any supporters travelling via train would have to leave the match in the first half to reach Euston – 10 miles from the stadium – where the final train back to Manchester leaves at 9.39pm.
United’s ever-lively away following was left furious earlier this month after being handed back-to-back night games in west London within six days – a 1-1 draw against Brentford and a 4-3 defeat at Chelsea.

The miserable double-header followed late away games at Burnley, Sheffield United and Newcastle United, with the Palace trip increasing the season tally to six, more than any other top-flight team.
That change was one too many, with United informing supporters that they had contacted the Premier League in demand of greater consideration for travelling fans.

A statement read: “We share your frustrations and appreciate the logistical difficulties that have been created for our fans by this fixture being scheduled for an 8pm kick off on bank holiday Monday in London.
“We want to inform you that we are writing to the Premier League to this effect, and will be asking for greater consideration to be given to match-going fans when agreeing fixture schedules with broadcasters.
“To support our travelling fans, we are pleased that together with our partner Adidas, we are able to offer free coach travel for supporters making the trip to Selhurst Park from Manchester.
“Thank you for your incredible support.”
In addition to free coach travel, United will also enter all ticket holders for the visit to south London into a draw to win a signed shirt.
United have four games before May 6, first travelling to the south coast to face AFC Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday (5.30pm KO).
Erik ten Hag’s side meet Championship outfit Coventry City in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley Stadium next Sunday (3.30pm KO).
They then welcome relegation favourites Sheffield United (8pm KO) and Burnley (3pm KO) to Old Trafford on April 24 and April 27, respectively.
