Man Utd set price for €85m flop; Man Utd find buyer for Onana as Martinez deal advances

Manchester United face a critical summer as they look to offload several high-profile names, including winger Jadon Sancho and goalkeeper Andre Onana. With incoming transfers hinging on outgoings, recent developments suggest potential moves are gaining traction for both players according to Sky Sports.

Juventus have reportedly reopened talks over a move for Jadon Sancho, according to Sky Sports. The Italian giants had previously shown interest in the 25-year-old and are now actively exploring the financial demands required to bring him to Turin.

Sancho recently returned to Manchester United after a short and unsettled loan stint at Chelsea. While the Blues were open to keeping him, negotiations over personal terms broke down, largely due to Sancho’s unwillingness to accept a wage cut. His return has created an unwanted dilemma for United, as the winger remains one of the highest earners at the club but is no longer central to their future plans.

United are reportedly seeking a transfer fee of around €30 million, though it remains to be seen if Juventus are prepared to meet that valuation. Talks have already begun between Sancho’s representatives and the Bianconeri, with the player likely to have to reduce his salary expectations to make the move feasible. This flexibility may be more likely now that his Premier League options have narrowed.

Earlier interest from Serie A champions Napoli has faded due to financial constraints. The Italian side had initially considered Sancho but quickly turned their focus to Bologna’s Dan Ndoye when it became clear that a deal for the Englishman would be too costly.

With Juventus more financially stable and actively seeking attacking reinforcements, their revived pursuit of Sancho appears both serious and strategic. Should they decide the investment is worthwhile, formal negotiations with Manchester United are expected to begin soon.

In a separate development, Ligue 1 side AS Monaco have emerged as potential suitors for United goalkeeper Andre Onana. The Cameroonian international has endured two turbulent seasons at Old Trafford, where inconsistency and high-profile errors have marred his tenure.

According to L’Équipe, Monaco are assessing Onana as a top option to strengthen their goalkeeping department ahead of their return to the UEFA Champions League. The club had initially targeted former United shot-stopper David de Gea, but talks fell through, prompting them to consider other options, including Chelsea’s Djordje Petrovic and Barcelona’s Marc-André ter Stegen.

Onana, who joined United from Inter Milan for approximately €50 million in 2023, is not being actively pushed out, but the club is open to offers. United’s interest in signing Emiliano Martinez from Aston Villa as a potential replacement means they are eager to raise funds—and Onana could be the key.

Reports last week indicated that Martinez is open to a move to Old Trafford and is “waiting” for United to make their approach. However, due to budget limitations, any formal pursuit of the Argentine goalkeeper will likely depend on whether the Red Devils can successfully offload Onana.

While Monaco have yet to submit an official bid, their interest signals a welcome opportunity for United, especially after Onana previously turned down a move to Saudi Arabia. Monaco’s Champions League status and clear need for a top-tier goalkeeper could provide the ideal landing spot for the 29-year-old.

Manchester United’s summer transfer activity is increasingly contingent on outgoings. With Jadon Sancho attracting interest from Juventus and Andre Onana on Monaco’s radar, United have a chance to streamline their wage bill and raise necessary funds.

Both deals, if completed, would not only help balance the books but also pave the way for key incoming signings most notably Emiliano Martinez and other squad reinforcements under what is expected to be a tightly managed

budget for the 2025–26 campaign.
