Arda Guler is set to leave Real Madrid this summer, with Manchester United preparing a €60m bid for the talented Turkey international according to Fichajes.
According to Fichajes, United are keen on securing the 20-year-old midfielder as part of their strategy to focus on younger players in the transfer market.
Guler, regarded as one of the brightest young talents in football, gained widespread recognition for his standout performances at Euro 2024. However, his time at Madrid has been far from ideal. After joining in the summer of 2023, Guler struggled to make an impact due to a pre-season injury, limiting his integration into the first team. He ended his debut season at the Santiago Bernabeu with just 13 appearances and a mere 442 minutes on the pitch.
Although he has featured more this season, Guler has mostly been used in less significant matches, primarily in the Copa del Rey, with just one La Liga goal and no Champions League goals to his name. His frustration has grown due to his limited playing time, and he is reportedly unhappy with his current role at Madrid.
For Guler, a change in manager could be the key to reviving his career, but with the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Vinicius Jr, and Jude Bellingham occupying key positions, opportunities for him to play regularly are scarce. The only realistic way Guler’s situation could improve is if manager Carlo Ancelotti departs and a new coach prioritizes integrating the young talent into the starting XI.
Arsenal has also been linked with a summer move for Guler, viewing him as a potential successor to Martin Ødegaard. However, it appears that Manchester United is leading the race, with their proposed €60m offer signaling their intent to bring the player to Old Trafford.
United’s interest in Guler aligns with their broader transfer plans, focusing on young, dynamic talent to strengthen their squad for the future. If Guler makes the move to England, he will hope to revive his career and fulfill the potential that made him one of the most sought-after young players in Europe.

Manchester United are at risk of failing to qualify for European football this season following their disappointing campaign.
Ruben Amorim’s side currently sit 14th in the Premier League table heading into the final six games of the season.
Their only remaining hope of claiming silverware is in the Europa League, where a place in next season’s Champions League is on offer to the winner.

Former Man City financial adviser Stefan Borson exclusively told Football Insider United could face a £125million hit in revenue if they fail to qualify for the Champions League and miss out on Europe altogether.
The Manchester giants have faced financial issues after the club sent a letter to fan groups in January warning them they are at risk of breaking the profit and sustainability rules (PSR), with top-flight sides only permitted to make £105million of losses over a rolling three-year period.

Man United face immediate £10m hit
Borson revealed United would also miss out on £10million from their Adidas deal due to a non-Champions League clause in their contract with the kit manufacturer.
He told Football Insider: “If they win the Europa League and qualify for the Champions League, then they can spend quite a lot of money.
“If they don’t qualify for the Champions League, they can spend a lot less.
“It’s pretty much as simple as that because you’re not only talking about probably £100million of potential revenue from the Champions League next season, you’re also talking about the money that they’re going to lose from Adidas that we know about and then all the knock-on effects that are going to happen because they may not even have Europa Conference.
“The swing might be as much as £125million.
“Then on top of that, if they don’t win it, let’s say they didn’t get to the final even or they went out against Lyon in the second leg, then obviously you wouldn’t get the semi-final money, you wouldn’t get the final money, and you wouldn’t get the Champions League money.
“You also wouldn’t get the Europa League money for next season.
“You would lose the Adidas money and you’d lose the extra games, so you start to have a really meaningful impact.”
