Manchester United reveals a 25-man training squad ahead of their Europa League clash against PAOK as Leny Yoro’s returns to first-team training

Manchester United has revealed its 25-man training squad ahead of their Europa League clash against PAOK, with the exciting news of Leny Yoro’s return to first-team training as reported by Goal.com. The young French defender, who joined the club from Lille for £58 million, has been sidelined due to a fractured metatarsal suffered during pre-season. His recovery marks a timely boost for United’s defensive lineup.

Yoro’s return joins the welcomed news of Christian Eriksen and Antony, who have also come back from injury, adding depth and creativity to the squad. Caretaker manager Ruud van Nistelrooy gains valuable options with their participation in the training session.

Mason Mount, returning from injury earlier this week, was also part of the training, further strengthening the midfield for the upcoming match. However, the team continues to miss defenders Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw, who remain injured. Young talents Daniel Arner and Jack Kingdon participated, hinting at potential opportunities for the academy players.

As Van Nistelrooy prepares for his third match in charge, following a 5-2 win over Leicester City and a 1-1 draw with Chelsea, the need for a victory against PAOK has become crucial. With United’s recent struggles in the Europa League during Erik ten Hag’s tenure, the pressure is on to secure a much-needed win.

Incoming manager Ruben Amorim will inherit a stronger squad with Yoro’s return, making his tactical decisions and player selections a focal point of interest when he takes over.

The training squad features a blend of seasoned players and youth, including goalkeepers Onana, Bayindir, Heaton, and Mee, defenders Dalot, Mazraoui, De Ligt, Martinez, Yoro, Lindelof, Evans, Malacia, Arner, and Kingdon, midfielders Ugarte, Casemiro, Eriksen, Mount, and Fernandes, alongside forwards Garnacho, Rashford, Amad, Antony, Zirkzee, and Hojlund.

According to Stretty News, Manchester United received a major lift in preparation for their Europa League match against PAOK as key players returned to training.

Among them was young French defender Leny Yoro, who rejoined first-team activities after recovering from a preseason foot injury.

United secured Yoro from Lille for £58 million over the summer, outbidding the likes of Real Madrid, PSG, and Liverpool.

However, fans will have to wait for his competitive debut, as the club intends to ease him back slowly under new management.

With Ruben Amorim set to manage United after the November international break, Yoro’s first Premier League appearance may come later than expected.

Amorim will face Ipswich Town in his first game as head coach, following interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy’s brief spell.

There was more encouraging news for United as Christian Eriksen and Antony resumed training.

While it’s uncertain if they will feature in Thursday’s match against PAOK. Van Nistelrooy is expected to address their availability soon. Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford, recovering from his own setback, trained individually before joining the team.

Promising youngsters Daniel Arner and Jack Kingdon also participated, adding depth to the squad, though experienced defenders Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw remain out with injuries.

With one win and a draw under Van Nistelrooy’s tenure following Erik ten Hag’s departure, United will be aiming for another victory to secure a top-eight

position in the Europa League.
