Marcus Rashford and Roy Keane won’t like Man Utd ‘plan’ hatched by club bosses

Marcus Rashford is the subject of heated debate after his poor start to the season at Manchester United.

Manchester United bosses are reportedly considering using Marcus Rashford as a central striker at different points in the season. Based on comments both men have made in recent weeks, the proposal is unlikely to go down well with club legend Roy Keane or Rashford himself. The debate over Rashford’s best position was finally settled when he scored 30 goals on the left wing in all competitions last season. Nonetheless, Erik ten Hag’s squad composition has allowed the 25-year-old to play as a centre-forward in the first two games of the current season. That will change when £72m contract Rasmus Hojlund recovers from a back injury. The former Atalanta striker is a real striker, but the Manchester Evening News say Old Trafford managers are hoping he “misses” some games so Rashford can get back on top.

Keane was critical of the England international’s body language last weekend when he scored another clean sheet in a worrying 2-0 defeat at Tottenham.

Rashford played in center again, as usual” Keane told Sky Sports. “He’s like a kid up there. Obviously he doesn’t like to play in the middle and his body language, his first touches of play, suggest that I don’t want to play in the middle. “But you have to – you have to do a job for the team.”

While answering a series of quick questions from fellow United legend Gary Neville, Rashford admitted playing at the top can irritate him as it is difficult to be in the game regularly.
