The Manchester City boss penned some pre-season thoughts in the Saturday’s Community Shield programme.
Pep Guardiola has said Manchester City could not have achieved their unprecedented success in recent years without the help of their fans.

The Blues won a fourth consecutive top-flight title last term, becoming the first side in the history of English football to achieve that feat. The win over West Ham United in their last Premier League game secured the title, and ahead of the 2024/25 term kicking off, Guardiola has said City will need their supporters’ help once again.

Writing in his pre-match notes in the Community Shield programme, Guardiola said: “I want to take this opportunity to say a huge ‘THANK YOU’ to every single Manchester City fan who helped us last season.

“We enjoyed winning the Premier League and celebrating with you all, and we have had some rest over the summer, but now it’s time to refocus and concentrate on making this season as good as we can. I am excited for what’s to come and I hope you guys are, too.”
The champions begin the new campaign with a trip to Stamford Bridge to take on Guardiola’s former apprentice Enzo Maresca, before City host newly promoted Ipswich Town in their maiden home game of the term.
