Reason why Sofyan Amrabat is flipping at current club says he should have gone to Liverpool but now it is too late

Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat has failed to show his effectiveness since he moved to Manchester United. Eriksen entered the match late in United’s 1-0 win over Copenhagen, and showed his abilities in the final minutes of the match.

The Denmark international brought composure and creativity to United’s midfield when he came on from the bench in the encounter.

New star Amrabat, on the other hand, struggled throughout the match with Copenhagen with Scott McTominay dropping deeper after he was substituted.

Paul Scholes says Christian Eriksen is a ‘better footballer’ than Sofyan Amrabat and should be starting in Manchester United’s midfield.

Amrabat struggled to get on the ball during a good first half display from Copenhagen, and Scott McTominay dropped deeper to play in his role.

Speaking in regards to Sofyan Amrabat, Scholes said: “It felt like we were watching a Europa League game in the first half. Like a Thursday night. Poor.”

“Second half was a lot better but you bring the better footballers on. You bring Christian Eriksen on, a much better footballer. No disrespect to Amrabat, he’s a stopper he’ll do his kind of thing. But he won’t build up play.”

“Christian Eriksen will. You saw the runs being made, all of sudden Fernandes is in the game, Garnacho too. Eriksen will find these players. For a 15-20 minute spell they looked like a proper team again.”

United coach Erik ten Hag was visibly happy with Eriksen’s display, and praised the midfielder’s leadership.

Though Sofyan Amrabat started the match, Eriksen got the praises from Ten Hag, who said: “Christian is always positive. He brings football and we did not have the football in the first-half– Copenhagen are well organised and you have to break them. Christian Eriksen makes the right passes.”

Perhaps Sofyan Amrabat has not fully adapted to life at Old Trafford or he is not used to the style of play of Erik Ten Hag.

Whichever the case may be, Scholes is not happy with it and feel the United boss should look for ways to play Eriksen ahead of Amrabat.

The Moroccan was allowed to join Manchester United on deadline day after the Italian side have had several negotiation with the Red Devils.

Erik ten Hag’s side paid €2 million as loan proposal for Sofyan Amrabat, which will see only €1 million of that fee guaranteed due to a break clause in January.
