Sir Jim Ratcliffe has personally approved the signing of £60m Premier League star
Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his team at Manchester United have given their approval for only one transfer target thus far: Michael Olise from Crystal Palace.
United face a considerable amount of work in the upcoming months. While their recent performances may seem encouraging, significant changes are imperative for the club to ascend to the highest echelons once again. Ratcliffe and his team are determined to achieve that.
Michael Olise is one of the many players that United have been linked with in recent months.
The Crystal Palace winger is currently considered one of the most talented players in the Premier League. His impressive performances since the beginning of last season suggest that it’s only a matter of time before he departs Selhurst Park for a bigger move.
Chelsea made significant efforts to secure Olise’s signature last summer, with clubs such as Arsenal and United also being linked with potential moves for the talented player.
According to Ben Jacobs, who has provided the most recent information, Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s team has accepted Olise as their lone target thus far.
The journalist told GiveMeSport: “The only, as far as I’m aware, categorical and endorsed target, if you’d like, for the summer from the current regime and the new Ratcliffe-led ownership, is Michael Olise at Crystal Palace.
“Everything else is up in the air. So, INEOS are thinking more about broad positions, and the striker is one of them, for example, and they’re looking at outgoings, which may help fund the window.
“And then from there, once the new recruitment team is built, we’ll start to work out which ones of these other links are concrete.”
Since the beginning of last season, Olise has showcased his prowess by scoring eight goals and providing 14 assists in the Premier League. His potential addition would offer valuable support for the club, particularly on the right-wing, a position where Antony has failed miserably.
The contract of the Crystal Palace winger contains a release clause valued at about £60 million, according to The Mirror.

Chris Kavanagh will take charge of Manchester United’s FA Cup fifth round tie against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground next Wednesday night.
The officials for the fifth round have been confirmed and it will be Kavanagh in charge of officiating when the Reds travel to the Midlands with the ambition of reaching the quarter-finals of the competition, as per the Manchester Evening News.
United have already beaten Wigan Athletic and Newport County on their way to the fifth round.
It will be Kavanagh’s third United fixture of the season. Meanwhile, Darren Bond has been put in charge of VAR.
Kavanagh was also referee for United’s 2-1 win over Chelsea at Old Trafford in December.
Hopefully the tie isn’t decided by poor officiating and we see United get another convincing win in the cup.
Should the Reds beat Forest and progress in the competition, our Premier League home game against Sheffield United on Saturday 16 March will be postponed, as the FA Cup quarter-finals will be played that weekend.
