SPORT Transfer: Manchester United set to offload two players, eyeing £100m
Manchester United is reportedly gearing up for a significant squad overhaul this summer, with Jadon Sancho and Mason Greenwood in the spotlight.
According to Journalist, Ben Jacobs, the Red Devils are intent on parting ways with the two attackers, aiming to rake in around £100 million from their sales.
Speaking to Give Me Sport, Jacobs revealed that Manchester United has no intentions of retaining Sancho and Greenwood once they return from their loan spells.
He indicated that both players are on the transfer list, with prices already established.
“With Mason Greenwood, he’s performing admirably, and Manchester United will want to address that situation. However, if they opt to sell, it could bolster the position of potential suitors,” Jacobs stated.
He suggested that Greenwood’s valuation is likely to surpass £40 million, allowing for some flexibility.
I still think that we’re looking at £40m or above, so there may be some flexibility, but if you take into account the fact that Man United are looking to bring in a minimum of £100m in outgoings, whether that is for financial reasons or so they can move in the market,” he added.
Manchester United is reportedly eyeing a move for Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite as part of their summer transfer plans, according to a report from the Daily Star.
The Red Devils are said to be considering a deal that could involve using Harry Maguire as part of the negotiations to secure the 21-year-old center-back.
Branthwaite, valued at £70 million, has emerged as one of the Premier League’s most promising young defenders, catching the attention of several top clubs, including Manchester United.
However, whether Everton would be willing to accept Maguire as part of the deal remains uncertain.
With defensive solidity being a concern for Manchester United this season, Branthwaite could be a significant addition to their squad.
The young defender possesses the qualities needed to bolster the Red Devils’ backline and could prove to be a valuable long-term asset for the club.
Should the transfer materialize, Branthwaite has the potential to form a formidable partnership with Lisandro Martinez at the heart of Manchester United’s defense in the years to come.
As the summer transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on Old Trafford to see how their pursuit of Branthwaite unfolds.
