Top Man United players set to leave as United is banned from Champions league next season
English giants,Manchester United face a possible ban from the Champions League once Sir Jim Ratcliffe completes his minority stake purchase.
Ratcliffe is set to acquire a 25 percent stake in Man United for £ 1.3 billion.
The Glazers are closing in on an agreement, with the British billionaire fending off competition from Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim.
Once the deal crosses the line, the 71-year-old will add another football club to his portfolio as his Ineos group already own Nice, with Victor Lindelof sharing his thoughts on the proposed overhaul.
The French club are second in Ligue 1, one point behind league leaders Paris Saint-Germain.
Ahead of next season’s Champions League, clubs in France’s top flight are set to awarded three automatic spots and one play-off place, with the top five teams in the Premier League going straight into the Europe’s premier competition.

But under UEFA’s ‘multi-club ownership’ rules, the only way Man United and Nice can both play in the Champions League next season is if one seals an automatic spot and the other qualifies directly for the Conference League, according to The Sun.
However, if both clubs secure spots in the automatic Champions League spots in their respective leagues, the team that finishes higher of the two gets the place while the other will be banned from Europe.
In the scenario both clubs finish in the same position, England’s ranking at the top of UEFA’s ‘access list’ means Man United will gain entry to the Champions League.
A UEFA source confirmed: “As the rules stand, it’s a clear situation. Ineos own Nice and are set to have a significant role in running United.
“Unless the regulations are changed, or Ineos sell one of their stakes, they cannot both play in European competitions, unless one is in the Champions league and the other in the Conference League.”
Erik ten Hag’s side are currently outside of the European spots as they occupy sixth place, with 21 points on the board.

Manchester United are prepared to give the green light for Raphael Varane’s exit during the January transfer window, according to Florian Plettenberg.
The Frenchman has been a substitute over the past few games in all competitions with manager Erik ten Hag preferring Harry Maguire in the right centre-back role.
The Dutch tactician does not believe Varane is effective enough from left centre-back. He has preferred the likes of Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof over him recently.
With Luke Shaw back from a muscle injury, the manager now has another option for the role which may increase the uncertainty over Varane’s future with United.
Plettenberg now claims that United are aware that Varane is ‘unhappy’ over his current situation.
They are prepared to give the ‘green light’ for a winter departure but won’t entertain any loan offers. The 2018 World Cup winner is currently valued between €20-30m.
Bayern Munich are monitoring the former Real Madrid defender, but there is nothing more at this stage. The German champions are unlikely to match his current weekly wages.
Varane’s exit could coincide with new centre-back signing
The 30-year-old is no longer an assured starter with the Red Devils and we won’t be surprised if he contemplates a move away from Manchester in the New Year.
Bayern are presently not in a position to meet his €20m annual salary and in our view, a move to the Saudi Pro League seems a more likely choice for the centre-back.
Saudi clubs have been willing to offer substantial wages to several elite players and Varane could easily double his salary if he were to move to the cash-rich league this winter.
In the process, United could easily secure a good transfer fee which would help in their bid to land a quality replacement. Nice’s Jean-Clair Todibo appears the top target.
The 23-year-old could be signed for €40m. United should be able to afford him with Sir Jim Ratcliffe prepared to provide financial assistance after securing his minority stake at the club.
