United confirms payment to sign prolific star who would excelled with Hojlund has just been made known to United

Now that United knows, they can afford to pay to sign a prolific Premier League star who would excel with Hojlund.

Ivan Toney may spark a bidding battle for the talisman this summer, but Brentford has stated their asking price.

The 28-year-old has been vocal about his desire to leave the Bees for a team that he believes is bigger and is likely competing in European football.

He is at the prime of his career and has the ability to lead the line for any Premier League team. He has shown he can perform in the top level every week. Toney has made 81 appearances in the top division, scoring 36 goals and providing ten assists.

Despite only returning to competitive action from his betting ban in January, his efforts at club level saw him called up to represent England in March’s camp. Toney subsequently earned his second cap and netted his first-ever Three Lions goal, and there’s no doubt that he’s in contention for a place on the plane to Germany this summer.

Whether or not Manchester United would ignite a pursuit of the Bees skipper remains to be seen. Reports strongly suggest that they’ll be looking to sign another striker in the summer in hopes of easing the goalscoring burden on young Rasmus Hojlund.

Alas, should the Reds choose to rival the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and West Ham United for Toney’s signature, they can expect to pay a fee of around £30-40 million, according to Florian Plettenberg.

Ralf Rangnick breaks silence on ‘return plans’ with Man Utd ready to take his advice

Ralf Rangnick has made his club football return plans clear as Man Utd prepare to follow his advice.

Ralf Rangnick has poured cold water on suggestions he could return to club football by replacing Thomas Tuchel as Bayern Munich manager this summer. The 65-year-old is set to guide Austria into Euro 2024 while Manchester United prepare to heed his brutally honest advice two years later.

Rangnick had emerged as a reported candidate to become Bayern’s new boss, with Tuchel confirmed to be leaving the club at the end of the season.

He boasts vast experience coaching in Germany, most recently taking charge of RB Leipzig for a second time until 2019, when he became Red Bull’s global sporting director.

The German returned to management at United in December 2021, replacing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on an interim basis until the end of the campaign.

However, Rangnick inherited a broken squad and managed to win just 38 per cent of his 29 games at the helm, drawing and losing nine-a-piece among 11 victories.

His decision to accept the Austria job led to a mutual agreement with United that he wouldn’t continue in the two-year consultancy role initially agreed with the club.

Two years later, he has ruled out the prospect of returning to club football at Bayern, insisting his focus lay on achieving success with Austria at the European Championships and beyond.

“No. Why should I? I feel comfortable here. I still have a contract until 2026 and our goal and our path will continue after the Euros,” Rangnick explained to Sport

While Rangnick’s tenure at United was disastrous, he was most memorable for his honest assessments of the club’s state in his press conferences and interviews.

His recommendation that the Red Devils perform “open-heart surgery” after overseeing a 4-0 defeat at Liverpool in April 2022 could be realised at the start of the Sir Jim Ratcliffe era.

Erik ten Hag has chopped and changed his squad in his two summer transfer windows as manager. However, Ratcliffe and INEOS are making changes off the pitch

UDon’ will have a new chief executive, sporting director, technical director and potentially a performance director and head of recruitment as part of a new-look sporting structure.

It should spark a more ruthless approach in the transfer market, with several first-team players expected to depart this summer.

Rangnick has also reportedly recommended that the club appoint Germany manager Julian Nagelsmann once he guides the nation into its home tournament.

United could very well take him up on that if they decide to part ways with Ten Hag at the end of an underwhelming second campaign.
