Anthony Gordon hit with suspension and will miss Newcastle trip to West Ham
Newcastle United star Anthony Gordon will miss the Magpies’ trip to West Ham next Sunday due to suspension.
The England Under-21 star was issued with a yellow card by Manchester referee Thomas Bramall for kicking the ball away against Burnley. That means he has totted up five yellow cards this season and is hit with a one-game suspension for the Magpies.
However, Gordon will be clear to play Paris St-Germain on Wednesday night in the Champions League at St James’ Park. And he will available again after the international break when top-flight action resumes with a home encounter against Roy Hodgson’s Crystal Palace.
Howe had spoken of the former Everton man’s feisty style of play on the eve of the game against the Clarets. The Newcastle head coach said: “All I can say with Anthony is he is someone that the opposing fans can sometimes seem to want to attack.
