Aurélien Tchouaméni spoke about the Mbappé saga ahead of France’s 2024 UEFA Euro qualification
The rumors and discussion over his future will continue until Kylian Mbappé signs a contract extension or declares an intention to sign with any other club. It’s a topic even when the 24-year-old is with the French national team.
Ahead of France’s 2024 UEFA Euro qualification game on Thursday, Real Madrid midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni spoke about the Mbappé saga. There were rumors linking the Paris Saint-Germain star to the Spanish giants all summer.
Furthermore, when he opted not to trigger the option to extend his contract until 2025, the whispers grew louder. Mbappé didn’t travel with the capital club to Asia for their summer tour. Nonetheless, no transfer occurred, but Tchouaméni does leave a door open for a possible arrival.
“Of course, it was a possibility,” Tchouaméni told reporters. “Lots of things can happen in football. All the teams in the world want him. He’s at PSG today, we’re not going to talk about it more than that. So good season to him, and we are very happy with what we have today.”
Still, one report suggests that Mbappé’s position has not changed. The Frenchman does not intend to extend and wishes to be free to choose his future club in a few months. This saga is a rollercoaster, so it’s hard to predict what will happen as the soap opera continues.
