Arsenal play host to the EPL champions travels to the Emirates without some star players who picked up late injury during match day warm-up.

Arsenal welcomes champions Manchester City to their North London headquarters on Sunday, and fans will swarm to the Emirates Stadium.

Both teams competed in the Champions League away from home in midweek, with the Gunners losing 2-1 to Lens and the Citizens coming back to win 3-1 against RB Leipzig.

Guardiola’s injury worries are beginning to fade as many key first-team players return to duty. The most notable is John Stones, who returned to the bench against Leipzig on Wednesday after not appearing for Manchester City since the Community Shield meeting with Arsenal.

Bernardo Silva made his first appearance in three games against Leipzig and should be ready to start again on Sunday at the Emirates. Kevin De Bruyne, on the other hand, is still sidelined with a hamstring injury sustained on the first day of the league season against Burnley.

Rodri will serve the final game of his suspension against Arsenal after being sent off against Nottingham Forest for aggressive behaviour. The Citizens have lost both games he has been banned for so far, but they returned to winning ways when he played against Leipzig in midweek. The Spaniard might be a huge loss for Guardiola.

Manchester City Predicted Lineup:

Formation 4-2-3-1: Moraes Ederson (GK); Kyle Walker, Dias, Manuel Akanji, Gvardiol; Mateo Kovacic, Rico Lewis; Phil Foden, Alvarez, Doku; Erling Haaland.

Sunday’s Premier League fixtures mark the final hurrah for fans before a brief hiatus during the impending international break. These matches promise to serve up a tantalizing dose of football action, making the pause more bearable. In this quartet of games, football enthusiasts can anticipate a thrilling Sunday.

First on the list, Brighton welcomes Liverpool to the AMEX Stadium in what is expected to be an engaging clash, scheduled for a 14:00 BST kickoff. Meanwhile, the West Ham versus Newcastle fixture, also kicking off at 14:00 BST, promises a gripping encounter at the London Stadium.

The West Midlands will witness an intense derby as Wolverhampton hosts Aston Villa at the Molineux Stadium. These two regional rivals will lock horns in a battle of pride and skill, also commencing at 14:00

BST.

However, the highlight of the day and arguably one of the standout fixtures of the season is the showdown between Arsenal and Manchester City at the Emirates Stadium. This marquee matchup is set to unfold at 16:30 BST and holds immense significance in the Premier League title race. A loss for Arsenal would not be a fatal blow to their aspirations, but bridging a four-point gap to the formidable Man City is no small feat.

While City’s recent upset by Wolves serves as a reminder that unpredictability is inherent in football, the onus falls squarely on Arsenal as the home team and title contenders. Their mission is clear: attack and secure all three points. However, they must exercise caution, as Manchester City, even without key midfielder Rodri, is expected to bounce back with a stronger performance.

These four fixtures not only signify a thrilling Sunday of football but also represent a crucial juncture in the Premier League, where fortunes can shift dramatically. Football enthusiasts will be glued to their screens, eager to witness the drama and spectacle unfold in these pivotal matchups.
