Jamie Carragher claims he keeps hearing something about Tottenham Hotspur fans that’s complete ‘nonsense’

Carragher was speaking on Monday Night Football and reflected on yet another win for Spurs.

Tottenham picked up a 2-0 win over Fulham last night thanks to goals from Son Heung-Min and James Maddison.

Spurs weren’t at their best against the Cottagers and Ange Postecoglou even criticised his players after the game.

But the win saw Tottenham move back to the top of the Premier League table and Jamie Carragher believes their fans should enjoy the moment.

Carragher on what he keeps hearing about Tottenham fans

Speaking on Sky Sports, Carragher claims Tottenham fans should be allowed to enjoy the moment and celebrate their side’s early-season success.

“Yeah, they are enjoying it and I don’t think this is necessarily about Tottenham being top of the league,” the pundit said. “I think it’s just a feeling about the players there, they are enjoying themselves, the manager and the football they are playing and they are milking it.

“Fair play to them. You will have the celebration police out tonight, saying nonsense, let them enjoy it. They deserve it.”

Carragher makes a great point that Tottenham fans have every right to enjoy the moment and celebrate their early-season form.

Fans are often criticised due to over-celebrating victories and Spurs’ supporters have been subjected to similar treatment this season.

But why shouldn’t Spurs fans lap up their brilliant start to the season? They have endured some shocking performances over the past few seasons and Postecoglou has been a breath of fresh air for the North Londoners.

Tottenham fans are finally enjoying watching their side play football once again after four years of more pragmatic managers.

It’s still early days in terms of Postecoglou’s tenure but with Spurs sitting top of the league for the time being, their supporters have every right to lap up the good feeling around the club.
