French midfielder Paul Pogba has officially completed his 18-month suspension for doping and is now eligible to resume his professional football career as of March 11, 2025. The initial four-year ban, imposed in September 2023 after Pogba tested positive for non-endogenous testosterone, was reduced to 18 months following a successful appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in October 2024.

During his suspension, Pogba’s contract with Juventus was mutually terminated in November 2024. Since then, he has been training independently to maintain his fitness levels. As he plots his return to professional football, several potential destinations have emerged. Reports indicate that Pogba is considering opportunities in Major League Soccer (MLS) in the United States and clubs in Saudi Arabia. In the MLS, Inter Miamiβ€”co-owned by David Beckhamβ€”has been mentioned as a possible suitor, especially given the presence of high-profile players like Lionel Messi, Luis SuΓ‘rez, and Jordi Alba. Alternatively, a move to Saudi Arabia could see Pogba join compatriots such as N’Golo KantΓ© and Karim Benzema, offering both competitive play and lucrative financial incentives.

Despite these international prospects, Pogba’s preference appears to be a return to European football. His ambition to regain a spot in the French national team for the 2026 World Cup is a significant motivating factor. Among European clubs, Olympique de Marseille has expressed interest in securing his services for the upcoming season. Pogba’s focus remains on reestablishing himself at the highest level of competition to achieve his national team aspirations.

Pogba’s career has been marked by notable achievements, including winning the FIFA World Cup with France in 2018 and securing multiple domestic titles with Juventus. His return to the sport is highly anticipated, with fans and analysts keen to see how he reintegrates into professional football following his suspension.
