Manchester City and their Premier League rivals have a sparse January schedule to contend with as they continue to battle for silverware across the board.

After momentarily turning their attention to the FA Cup over the last few days, clubs will now have a break among the next two top-flight weekends.

That means there will be a reduced fixture list between now and late-January. City, for example, will put their feet up on January 19/20 after meeting Newcastle this Saturday afternoon (5.30pm).

Arsenal and Liverpool are among the title-chasing sides with no game this weekend coming, so City have a chance to move within two points of the summit. As things stand, they also have a game in hand on the sides around them due to last month’s Club World Cup adventure.
